Houston Chapter of AMAC Meetings Chapter Charter and Election Proposed Timeline

Objective: To elect officers and form committees for the Houston Chapter of AMAC.

Timeline:

  1. June 6th -Meeting to decide on committees and understand tasks
  2. June 20th – Candidate Nominations
  3. July 8th – Candidate Forum
  4. July 18th –Elections

All meeting times are 3pm-5pm Central Standard Time

Detail Timeline:

June 6th Meeting

  1. Establish and agree on a timeline for everything.
  2. Formation of Committees
  3. Divide into two committees:
    1. Programs and Membership
  4. Vote on committee leaders
  5. Set objectives, timelines, and responsibilities for each committee.
  6. Each committee to meet separately to plan for the year and report out during June 20th Meeting

June 20th Meeting

  1. Committee Reports
  2. Programs and Membership report out with recommendation
  3. Candidate Nominations
  4. Collect nominations for officer positions.
  5.  Ensure nominees meet eligibility criteria. (Send to AMAC to review)

July 8th Meeting

  1. Candidates Forum
  2. Allow candidates to present their platforms.
  3. Q&A session for members to learn about candidates.

July 18th Meeting

  1. Elections
  2. Face-to-Face Elections
    1. Prepare ballots
    2. Conduct elections at a designated location.
    3. Count and announce results promptly.

Goals

  • Ensure transparency and fairness in the election process.
  • Encourage member participation and engagement.
  • Provide clear communication regarding timelines, procedures, and expectations
  • Maintain records of all nominations, votes, and election results for transparency and future reference.
